Who’s eligible

As a full-time Team Member, you can enrol yourself and your dependants in most benefit plans if you meet the eligibility requirement. You must enrol through Workday when you are first eligible. If you do not enroll when first eligible, you may be asked to complete a Statement of Health and coverage may be denied.

Health coverage

Michaels offers you the opportunity to select medical and vision coverage that extends your provincial health plan benefits. This “extra” coverage protects you from life’s expected — and unexpected — health expenses. You can also elect dental coverage.

Life and AD&D Insurance

Michaels provides free basic life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. If you want additional financial protection, you may buy optional life and AD&D insurance.

Enrol through Workday

Manage your elections, dependant information and beneficiary designations through Workday. Review the job aid for Workday access while on leave of absence here

Rates

Know how much the plans cost. Biweekly premiums will be automatically deducted from each paycheque based on the coverage you choose.

Choose wisely

After you enrol, you typically can’t make changes until the next Open Enrolment period. Otherwise, changes are only allowed if you have a qualifying life event, such as birth, adoption, marriage or divorce. Changes must be made within 31 days of the qualifying event.
