The information and tools provided on this website make it simple to evaluate your options and then “design your benefits” for today and in the future.

Important Dates

Keep these important dates in mind as you are completing the benefits enrolment process. You can use the calculator below to confirm your enrolment deadline and the date your benefits will go into effect.

First Day of Eligibility

Your official date of hire is your first day of eligibility to enrol in benefits.

Enrolment Deadline

Your deadline to enrol in benefits is 30 days from your date of hire.

Effective Date

If you complete your benefits enrolment when you are first eligible – on your hire date – your coverage will begin on the 1st of the month following your initial 30 days of employment.

New Hire Checklist

  • Compare your options: Choose the right coverage for you and your family. Most plans provide coverage for eligible dependents. If you need to cover family members, you can determine who is eligible.
  • Decide if you want additional income protection: You can elect optional life and AD&D and/or critical illness insurance coverage.
  • Enrol with Canada Life: You have 30 days to enrol, following your hire date.
