If you are an eligible full-time Team Member, Michaels offers disability insurance to replace part of your income if you are unable to work for an extended period of time.

Short-Term Disability (STD)

The short-term disability (STD) plan provides income protection if you cannot work due to an illness or non-work-related injury.

Michaels provides this benefit at no cost to all eligible full-time Team Members.

  • If you are a full-time salaried Team Member, STD replaces 100% of pay for the first 17 weeks of disability.
  • If you are a full-time hourly Team Member, STD replaces 66.67& of pay, up to $1,000 per week, for the first 17 weeks of disability.

Team Members that have completed the waiting period, are working the required 32-hour average, and are enroled in the STD plan can file a claim.

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

If you are eligible for Extended Health, long-term disability (LTD) coverage is mandatory. After your short-term disability (STD) benefits end, you may be eligible to receive LTD benefits.
